Silk flowers....... glue?
Does anybody happen to know of some sort of glue that would stiffen fabric (ie handpainted silk flowers) but would be invisible, I mean not shiny or coloured, because obviously theres PVA glue and fabric glues but not many will dry without leaving a trace? And also without ruining the painting underneath, because it would be very delicate? Thanks in advance..:)
I think that "fabric stiffeners" available at fabric stores don't leave a shiny finish (like Plaid's Stiffy or Aleene's Stiffener).
If the colorants you're using to paint the flowers aren't permanent, you might be able to get away with spraying the flowers first with a coat or two of clear acrylic spray to seal them well enough to use the stiffener on. Or just use a waterproof colorant like acrylic paint.
